Zombies Don't Forgive A Living Dead Love Story Rusty Fischer Books
I've read several of Mr. Fisher's zombie books, and they are all extremely entertaining. In Zombie's Don't Forgive, we pick up not long after the first novel, Zombie's Don't Cry, lets off. The main characters are on the run from the ruling zombies, and from the zerkers, zombies who want nothing more than to kill them. They get jobs working as... zombies... in a side show act and try to keep a low profile and pass as humans, while still having a brain-filled diet and pale skin and everything else being a zombie entails. Then the bad guys show up, and the good guys, and things really start to get entertaining. Mr. Fisher delivers great zombie fun in a very neat world where zombies are people too.Tags : Amazon.com: Zombies Don't Forgive (A Living Dead Love Story) (9781605426365): Rusty Fischer: Books,Rusty Fischer,Zombies Don't Forgive (A Living Dead Love Story),Medallion Press,1605426369,Social Themes - General,Interpersonal relations;Fiction.,Occult fiction,Orlando (Fla.),Orlando (Fla.);Fiction.,Teenagers,Zombies,Zombies;Fiction.,Children: Young Adult (Gr. 7-9),Fiction,Fiction-Horror,Horror,Horror & ghost stories, chillers (Children's Teenage),Interpersonal relations,JUVENILE,JUVENILE FICTION Action & Adventure General,JUVENILE FICTION Horror,JUVENILE FICTION Love & Romance,JUVENILE FICTION Paranormal, Occult & Supernatural,Juvenile Fiction,Juvenile Fiction Social Themes General (see also headings under Family),Juvenile FictionAction & Adventure - General,Juvenile FictionLove & Romance,Juvenile FictionParanormal, Occult & Supernatural,Juvenile Grades 7-9 Ages 12-14,Love & Romance,Paranormal,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Horror,YOUNG ADULT FICTION Social Themes General (see also headings under Family),Young Adult Fiction
Zombies Don't Forgive A Living Dead Love Story Rusty Fischer Books Reviews
I must say, I loved Zombies Don't Cry so I was very excited for this novel. Taking up were the first book left off, we embark on a new villain. It doesn't start out that way though, so let's start from the beginning.
Maddy, Stamp, and Dane now have a nice little apartment furnished with zombie accessories. Workout machines so the joints don't get stiff, and a couch. Of course we can't forget the fridge that holds the brains that Maddy has to purchase once a week from some weird, creepy guy. (As if Maddy isn't weird and creepy herself.) For the most part, Maddy and Dane lay low, just hanging around the apartment and exercising at night. Behaving so as to not to cause any suspicion. But that doesn't suit Stamp's lifestyle. He tends to go out clubbing at night. Mixing with the local humans isn't the best of idea's and the others have let him know that they don't much approve of his behavior but they accept it because they trust him.
When Stamp finds a girlfriend and suddenly becomes kind of obsessed with her, naturally, Maddy and Dane want to meet her. When she's a no-show, they decide to do some detective work on their own, which leads to far more than they could've imagined. They have always played it safe but this girl is T.R.O.U.B.L.E. Just how far will they go for Stamp, and how far will this new girlfriend push them? Far more than I ever expected!
Maddy, Dane, and Stamp have left Barracuda Bay after most of the people in town died after the Zerker attacks (see `Zombies Don't Cry') and are hiding out in Orlando. They've become at hit with their new jobs as part of the Great Movie Monster Makeover show, but also have spend a lot of time blending in with Normals and staying off the radar of Sentinels. Stamp has been going out a lot and dating a different girl seemingly every week, until he meets a mysterious and camera-shy blonde. Yet Val may be more than meets the eye and she may be a threat too dangerous for Maddy and Dane to ignore!
Maddy and Dane are hard at work trying to fit in with the Normals in Orlando, their new home. Stamp is more interested in hooking up than hiding out. His new girlfriend is strangely shy, yet when they finally meet her, Val trips Maddy and Dane into danger mode. Is she a Sentinel charged with bringing them back to face justice or does she have another motive all together? `Zombies Don't Forgive' is a snarky and funny story with action and Zombie adventure. Maddy has grown into her new life and is willing to do anything to keep her family safe. Stamp was a jerk for most of the book and Val was deliciously deceitful. Maddy, Dane, and Stamp learn all actions have consequences, even when you're undead. I really liked Maddy's kick-ass and take names approach to the problems they encounter with both Val and the Sentinels. I really enjoyed the story and how events turned out. The author even left an opening for the storyline of a next book, but not in a overly obvious or cheesy way. These are the types of zombies I can really sink my teeth into!
Living Dead Love Story Series Zombies Don't Cry (1), Zombies Don't Forgive (2)
What I liked about this book
This book goes at a slightly slower pace in the beginning than the first book in the series. It is not however, boring and I enjoyed the slow build up and mystery that took place for most of the book.
I enjoyed all of the characters returning . Except Stamp, he seemed to make his own mess once too many. His choices were so immature and caused so much trouble it annoyed me a lot. Yeah, he's not my favorite character.
Maddy goes through a lot of changes. Some good, some not so good. I felt her and Dane handled the situation the best they could.
The last quarter of the book was so awesome with a lot of twists and turns! I stayed up super late to finish this book as I couldn't put it down.
The ending was really good and left room for an exciting sequel!
What I didn't like about this book
I don't read YA a lot because some of the cliche's bother me...like love triangles. This book has one! While I don't find the men to be annoying in this book (which is rare) Maddy kind of ticked me off. Like many YA's she needs to make up her mind already. I don't want to give away any spoilers but yeah....Team Dane!
Overall
I love this series so much! I like to read different spins on genres and this book has a totally different spin on zombies. It's like Twilight....but zombies. They think they, interact, their moody... I love it! When I want to read about disgusting zombies I will but, for right now I can't wait to hand with these guys again.
